Old Colony Habitat partner family/families are selected after all of the qualified applicants are identified. Old Colony Habitat for Humanity offers a hand-up, not a hand-out. Our partnership program includes educational workshops to equip new homeowners with the skills necessary to manage being a homeowner and the financial skills to be successful.

Build Volunteers
Looking to get your hands dirty and make a difference? We’re always looking for individuals and groups to join us on our build sites. Whether you’re coming solo or bringing your coworkers, classmates, or friends, we welcome volunteers of all skill levels.
Old Colony Habitat works with corporate teams, schools, community organizations, and individuals throughout the build process—offering a rewarding experience while making a tangible difference.

Committee Volunteers
Behind every successful build is a team of passionate volunteers working behind the scenes. If you’re looking for a consistent, meaningful way to contribute, consider joining one of our committees. Committees meet virtually once a month (excluding July and December) for about an hour, with flexible scheduling based on members’ availability.

Building Committee
Plans and oversees all aspects of our construction projects, including architectural coordination, working with local municipalities, and supervising volunteer crews under the guidance of the committee chair.
Land Acquisition Committee
Works to identify and secure land for future home builds. This committee seeks donated or affordable land that fits our mission and financial criteria, including private donations, municipal lots and auctioned properties.
Marketing, PR & Volunteer Committee
Marketing & PR: Promotes our mission and events through strategic outreach, grant writing, press releases, and social media. Ideal for volunteers with communication and marketing skills.

Event Planning Committee

Old Colony Habitat for Humanity is seeking a motivated, organized, and results-driven Development & Events Coordinator to join our team!
This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit fundraising, community engagement, relationship-building, and creating meaningful events that make a difference.
Working closely with the CEO, staff, volunteers, and community partners, the Development & Events Coordinator will help grow our fundraising efforts, strengthen donor and corporate relationships, and support our mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities for families throughout Bristol and Norfolk Counties.
What You’ll Do
- Fundraising & Development: Help achieve annual fundraising goals through donor cultivation, corporate sponsorships, annual appeals, Giving Tuesday, and fundraising campaigns.
- Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of our Golf Tournament, BINGO Fundraiser, and Annual Wine Tasting, working alongside committees, staff, and volunteers.
- Donor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals, businesses, sponsors, and community partners.
- Database & Reporting: Manage Little Green Light donor records, donation tracking, acknowledgments, fundraising reports, and event platforms such as OneCause, Stripe, and Donorbox.
- Marketing & Communications: Develop sponsorship packages, fundraising appeals, event collateral, and donor communications in collaboration with staff.
- Community Engagement: Represent Habitat at fundraising events and community activities while identifying new opportunities for partnerships.
- Organizational Support: Assist with grant-writing support, development projects, and general office operations.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, event planning, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with donor stewardship, sponsorship development, and fundraising events.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Familiarity with donor databases, fundraising software, or CRM systems preferred.
- A creative, collaborative, and self-motivated approach to achieving goals.
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- A genuine passion for helping families and strengthening communities.
