Old Colony Habitat was excited to again be building a new single family home in partnership with a selected habitat family. Construction of the two story, 1400 square foot home began in mid-May and was completed in June 2017. The ultra-low maintenance home is Energy Star rated and expected to be the most energy efficient Habitat home built by Old Colony Habitat to date.

The new home features three bedrooms on the second floor with a bathroom and extra storage. The first floor was designed as an open floor plan with an open kitchen, dining and living space. The home was constructed with a full basement to allow for expansion in the future.

For the first time ever, all of the Holman Street house exterior and interior framing is being pre-cut off site using a CAD driven CNC machine. Every stud, plate and header will be delivered, labelled and ready to install. As an added assurance of construction quality, all studs are tenon jointed and will be screwed in place.

Attleboro Home BuildHome owner Sandra Hovigimian and her two sons are excited to get started with their volunteer work. Sandra will be required to complete 250 hours of sweat equity work on the house prior to taking title and moving into her new home.
