Building More Than Homes How Community Support Is Shaping Our Franklin Build
At Old Colony Habitat for Humanity, we believe a home is more than four walls and a roof – it’s a foundation for stability, opportunity, and a brighter future. Nowhere is that more evident than in our current Franklin build, a project made possible by the incredible support of local volunteers, partners, and neighbors.
As construction continues to move forward, we’re reminded every day that this home is being built not just with tools and materials – but with compassion, collaboration, and community pride!
A Community Coming Together in Franklin
From the very beginning, the Franklin community has shown up in meaningful ways. Local volunteers have dedicated countless hours on and off-site, businesses have stepped forward with donations and services, and neighbors have stopped by to learn more about Old Colony Habitat for Humanity’s mission and the family who will soon call this house their home.
This project is a true reflection of what can happen when a community rallies around a shared goal: creating safe, affordable housing and helping a hardworking family achieve the dream of homeownership.
Progress You Can See and Feel
With each phase of construction, the Franklin home becomes more real. Framing has taken shape, systems are being installed, and finishing touches are beginning to come into view. But beyond the visible progress, there’s a deeper impact happening, and that’s one built on partnership. You see, Habitat homes are not giveaways. Our future homeowners partner with us every step of the way, completing sweat equity hours and financial education courses to prepare for long-term success. It’s a collaborative process that empowers families while strengthening the community around them.
