About our Family Selection Committee

The Committee selects Habitat homeowners based on:

1. Demonstrated need for safe and decent housing;
2. Have lived or worked in our service area for at least a year;
3. Meet the HUD median income guidelines;
4. Ability to make a mortgage down payment and can pay on time, in full, each month;
5. Secure employment, good credit and legal residency;
6. Willing to partner with Old Colony Habitat for Humanity by completing the required sweat equity.

Habitat families are offered a Hand-Up NOT a Hand-Out.
