Family Services & Digital Communications Specialist
Position Summary
The Family Services & Digital Communications Specialist plays a vital role in sharing the story of Old Colony Habitat for Humanity, increasing awareness of our mission, supporting fundraising initiatives, and maintaining strong connections with donors, families, and the community. This role requires a creative, organized, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Position Title: Family Services & Digital Communications Specialist
Reports to: CEO
Location: Old Colony Habitat for Humanity (Raynham, MA) Type: Part-Time 25 hours/ week | Non-Exempt
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Draft and schedule engaging social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Create compelling photo and video content to highlight stories from build sites and partner families.
- Collaborate on monthly newsletters and e-blasts via Constant Contact.
- Maintain and update the organization’s website (events, press releases, impact stories).
- Develop all marketing collateral including flyers, brochures, signage, and sponsorship packets.
- Manage content calendars aligned with fundraising events and campaigns.
- Coordinate media outreach and press releases for major announcements (e.g., family selection, ReStore closure).
- Ensure timely sponsor recognition through social media, signage, and thank-you communications.
- Order and manage branded promotional items (“swag”).
- Maintain current information on platforms such as GuideStar and manage corporate logos.
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Manage donor database (Little Green Light): enter donations, track activity, and generate reports.
- Prepare and mail personalized thank-you letters to donors.
- Support planning and promotion of fundraising events (e.g., wine tasting, Women Build, Home Dedications).
- Set up and manage campaigns and events in OneCause fundraising platform.
- Assist with direct mail campaigns and donor stewardship activities.
- Prepare customized sponsorship packets and partnership proposals.
Family Services & Community Engagement
- Support the Family Services process, including managing DocuSign documents, collecting application data, and communicating with applicants.
- Assist with the creation of Family Maintenance Manuals for each home built.
- Collect and document testimonials and stories from Habitat partner families.
- Assist with outreach and follow-up related to government relations and advocacy.
Administrative Support
- Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Coordinate mailings and maintain internal records and files.
- Provide general office support and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit, communications, or donor relations role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva, Constant Contact, website CMS (e.g., WordPress), and social media platforms.
- Experience with donor databases (Little Green Light preferred) and fundraising platforms (OneCause a plus).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Passion for affordable housing, community engagement, and Habitat’s mission.
Flexibility but with an in-office presence required Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays 9am to 3pm
Occasional evenings or weekends required for special events.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when setting up for events or transporting materials.
