Fundraising Chair (Volunteer)
Directs efforts of Fundraising Committee to generate funds to build Habitat homes.
Organizes subcommittees for individual, civic organization, church and corporate campaigns,
Special Events, Gillette Stadium concession, recycling, and car donation programs. Develops
fundraising strategy and campaign plan. Good organizational and personal skills essential,
along with knowledge of MS-Office – based computer applications.
Recycling Coordinator (Volunteer)
Develops and administers program to recycle cans and bottles to earn funds to build Habitat homes.
Obtains guidance from HFHI, creates committee/network of coordinators and volunteers in each town
in our service area, conducts training, coordinates Cans for Habitat program to obtain bins, media
materials etc., identifies and enlists local recyclers to take our pickups, and reports results for
grant competition.
Development Specialist/Office Manager (Volunteer)
Donate 8-12 hours per week to administrative tasks in the Old Colony Habitat office at
First Baptist Church in Attleboro. Return calls, take and distribute phone messages,
perform filing, update computer databases, assist Development Committee chairs in their
functions (fundraising, site selection and public relations). Requires good phone and
computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office© programs (Word, Excel,
Publisher, Powerpoint).
Church Relations Chairperson (Volunteer)
Set up a network of volunteers and coordinate outreach to churches in the 10 communities
of our service area Seekonk, Rehoboth, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Plainville, Mansfield,
Norton, Wrentham, Foxboro, and Norfolk.) Organize fundraising support, speakers, youth
group participation, and prayer support. Deep spiritual commitment and good people skills
will be the keys to success!
Gillette Stadium Concession Coordinator/Non-Profit Group Leader (Volunteer)
Manage all aspects of Old Colony’s participation in running a concession booth
for up to 30 home events at Gillette Stadium throughout the year. This is a key
element of our fundraising activities, raising almost $30,000 in 2003-2004.
Advertise for and sign up volunteers, mail parking passes, coordinate training
and assignment of stand managers, interface with stadium, act as stand manager,
track receipts and tips, process proceeds with Treasurer, and perform year-end
review of operations. Good internet/e-mail access and knowledge of MS Excel required.
Should attend ServeSafe training (8hrs) provided by the stadium before assuming stand manager duties.
